The list of resources below have been tremendously helpful to me. I hope you find them useful as well. I have found EMDR and The Pathway to be especially effective in dealing with trauma and addictions.

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a god send to anyone suffering from the after effects of trauma. While by no means a quick fix, it is much faster than traditional talk therapy alone, can provide more thorough healing, avoids much of the retraumatization that can occur in traditional therapy, and produces less transference between client and therapist.

The Pathway (The Solution) enables you to "turn off the drives to go to excess" and is an extremely effective way of staying in emotional balance while healing. You learn to manage your feelings on a daily (and if needed, minute by minute) basis in order to stay balanced and not have to turn to outside sources (addictions) to soothe/nurture yourself. The ability to do this was a missing piece of the "healing puzzle" for me for many years. I'm grateful to have found it and equally grateful to be able to share this information with others.
